A Laboratory of Planetary Diplomacy on Territorial Research and Geopolitical Advocacy: Following McHale’s 'Planetary Housekeeping', referring to the planet as an indoor space, the Studio seeks for new forms of correlations between social landscapes, ecosystem services, and post-industrial geographies, aiming TO MAP or a global atlas of CONFLICT ZONES AND EVIRONMENTAL CONTRAINS. The research projects will develop digital collaborative cartographies and living maps, while denouncing agents of disturbance and the exhaustion of exceptional ecological resources and vulnerable lands and communities.

Studio 12 students envisions free energy managed by community grids, landscapes eco-infrastructures linking disrupted ecosystems, and long-term remediation strategies for scars of extractivist practices and man-made exploited geographies. Responding to climate change in Norrland, learning from paths and routes laid out by people for centuries before and letting history resonate through visions for the future, the studio will experience a journey on critical investigation tackling futures sustainable scenarios. By revitalizing the landscapes with new economies and natural values through transitional infrastructures and material engineering to living systems and building components, the students will be able to envision carbon free geographies and new multispecies landscapes.

The projects research by design, envisioning Post-Industrial Edens of high natural and cultural capital through art, science, and craftmanship by revisiting the ecosystemic values and violations of the boundaries of human and nature's rights. The research hypotheses around environmental scenarios where eco-infrastructures seek to regulate the metabolism of the landscape.
